Amsterdam

Amsterdam. Probably the most beautiful city I have ever been to, and I have been to many beautiful cities across Europe, but there’s just something about the way these people live. Every inch of the city was stunning, we never saw a bad part the whole 4 days we were there.

Of course, I went with the most beautiful human on earth who just so happens to be my boyfriend. Charlie had been to Amsterdam before, so he knew what he was doing, me however, I had never been. We began talking about going away together in August, we were thinking about a short break in the UK. Two of our co-workers said they managed to get flights to Amsterdam pretty cheap, so we decided to take a look and found return flights for ยฃ90 for the two of us.

Flying from Liverpool John Lennon airport was so quick and easy, it was honestly the fastest I had ever been through an airport. The flight was quicker than the train from Southport to Manchester!

There is so much to do and see in Amsterdam, I found that we could just wonder and stumble upon some cool and quirky places. Of course, we visited the red light district. Who wouldn’t? It was beautiful and so interesting, unfortunately I couldn’t get any photo’s for obvious reasons. We also were surprised by the amount of Americans about!

One of the best things we did was hire bikes, if you ever go to Amsterdam you must hire bikes! What an experience it was, and of course it made transport so easy. Luckily where we stayed allowed us to hire these bikes, and I honestly don’t know what we would have done without them!

However, we parked our bikes up outside central station and wondered off for a few hours. We came back to orange tags on our bikes, written in Dutch we had no idea what it said so as soon as we got to a wifi spot we googled it. Turns out it wasn’t anything to worry about, just something they have to to make sure bike racks aren’t overloaded with bikes.

We also visited the sex museum, which was such a laugh! A few things popped out at us, and we had a right old giggle.

Amsterdam was beautiful, and a wonderful first holiday together for us. We really hope to return in the future some time, however we have to try new things! Hopefully the next time we visit we will be a bit more fortunateย with money, and I will use my camera more!
